What is scope creep, and why does it cost freelancers so much?
Scope creep is the extra pages, features and revision rounds that appear after a project has been quoted. Each request is small enough to feel unreasonable to argue about, so it gets absorbed — and the project quietly stops paying what it should. A €2,000 site estimated at 25 hours is worth €80 an hour; ten unbilled hours later it pays €57.
